take things a step at a time.
be thankful of what you have,
what you've been through.

After the dreaded tests there seems to be so much time to spare. Ironically, there is so much free time that it seems to get boring all the time. Its pretty cool though, spending quality time with my family and friends these few days. Much time is spent on pondering over stuff that seemed to be meagre in the past. Now, family matters a lot to me, pity it took me a while to realise. I really don't know what to say, all I can say is everyone around me seems to have grown up, and its really nice to start talking to everyone maturely. I've also finally gave a serious thought about my future career. Most likely gonna take e business and marketing path, where i can really put my big mouth to good use.

-chill out.

It's a privilege to be part of a team, especially in sports. Not everyone would have the luxury of experiencing life where you train for each other, fight for each other, bleed for each other. I'm comforted by the fact that I'm in one. I'm glad I've been through all the shit with this bunch of people, picked up all the shit in life and threw it back at it with this bunch of people. A chapter in my life has come to a close. Someday I'll look back at the pages written to remind myself how much I've learnt from this experience. Thank you team, I cannot imagine doing this with any other bunch. Let's get on with life, there's so much more to it.

WHO DO YOU PLAY FOR?

Nationals is round the corner, mid april is the time. This year our team is growing stronger after each training. Especially after the addition of 2 good players, inclusive of a national player. The 2 players are on appeal and results will be out only after new year. With the inclusion of these players, some old players who needs appeal would have to make way. Harsh as it may seem and hard to accept, we really don't want anyone to leave. But truth is more complex and it is for the betterment for the team, stay strong rite? I guess life is like that, survival of the fittest. Sometimes we have to learn to accept. But with the good always come the bad. Injuries have been a persistent problem in the team, with the most recent party being Shuming, who went for op which was successful. He's a strong lad. I think the team must stay strong mentally and physically, do not hold back during challenges or else you will be the injured party. Don't risk injuries by going for unnecessary outside games, at least during this period alright.

Anyway it's a fully loaded new year, loads of work to complete and also loads of visiting and ang bao to add to the few i alr have even before new year started! haha. V day gift this year was great, thank YOU so much alrights(:

Happy New Year everybody!

Shuming: Stay strong for yourself and your family alright. The team is always here for you when u need us. Speedy recovery come back soon. After all, the people that get injured are those that work the hardest. Take care

WHO THE MAN? we the man... WHO THE TEAM? we the team... WHO ARE WE? we are...... NJC SOCCER!!

Today had friendly against HCI, final result was 2-0. Hao li and Darren scored. Although it was a good win, there are many things to learn from it. Shan't elaborate too much about it. This win is a far cry from what the team wants to achieve. The battle is won but the war has just begun. First and foremost, fitness level needs to go up. There is a long way to go but i believe that we can do it. we have been through so much I'm sure we can go another notch higher. Let's work even harder team NJC soccer!

I really appreciate all the help i get from my teammates in all the misc stuff. Just that I am not very good at thanking people. Without you guys i would be one hell of a busy guy but i really want to thank those who helped me through a tough month.

Also, being an ogl has been fun and it actually introduced me to more people. I'm really glad about it and meeting new people is always fun. Special thanks to Aquarians who made these few weeks of rehearsing and stuff fun. Let's make walk in a good one on monday! A for Aqua! haha.

Meanwhile, take care people, keep smiling and stay strong.

I'll be your teddy bear i'll be your cloud,
I'll take you round and round and,
if you don't mind i'll be your standing ground,
even if that means i'll drown.
Keep Going.

It's when you are most tired that your true character comes out.
It's the team with the strongest desire that emerge as winners.
It's the heart that you play with that determines the result.

It's the 10 other brothers alongside you, not yourself.
It's the competiveness amongst each other.
It's the survival of the fittest.
It's listening to instructions and carrying them out.
It's the initiatives taken.
It's the character moulded.
It's the bonds forged.
It's the team.

It's the lame jokes.
It's the push ups, runs and training.
It's the pressure.
It's the sweat, pain and blood shed.
It's the contact of the ball.
It's the hitting of the back of the net.
It's the celebrating of the goal.

It's the trust and the faith.
It's the never say die spirit.
It's TEAM NJC SOCCER.

I can't go on, I go on.

Stronger, faster, calmer. These are the attributes i need to improve on to up my game, to bring my game and my team's game to another level. I had a short training session with my seniors today and they taught me how to play the long ball and in the midst of it, Reuben told me this, :" One person training hard doesn't make the team stronger." I thought about it and felt that it's true. Afterall i am still learning to be a good leader just like anyone else. Everyone in the team is a leader.

The band of brothers should start working even harder together, only then we can achieve something. We all know everyone out there tell us that we have the potential to be a huge force, but relishing the potential takes effort and 100% commitment. We need to take every training like a match, putting ourselves into as much match situations as possible. After every training i always think that i could have given more just now, and i am sure we wouldn't want to give ourselves an excuse to regret.

JC2s ( as of 2007), i know we have been through hard trainings, but the truth lies that we have to take at least 10 JC1s to nationals. now we have 21 of us. Meaning 6 of us will get the cut. But the least we can do now is to make the cut decision tough for coach, only then is it fair for us. Do not give up without a good fight. Especially a few of us who needs to work extra extra hard. No one is safe, including me and any other player.

JC1s ( as of 2007), you guys haven't been through hard trainings, but you guys better make sure you'll deserve the 10 or more placings you gonna make up in nationals. Give the seniors a run for their money.

5 months to nationals. 5 more months of hard trainings. 5 more months of commitment. 5 more months of unconditional attention to school work and soccer. 5 more months of fun. 5 more months to build a 14325232 month long brotherhood.
